Vendaly 2.9: Master your schedule with manual event editing and social links

Big Updates to Your Schedule and Profiles in Vendaly 2.9

It’s been a busy few weeks here at Vendaly HQ, and we’re excited to announce the release of version 2.9. This update is all about making your life easier behind the scenes, so you can spend less time bogged down in admin and more time doing what you do best—serving your clients.

From giving you full control over the jobs you add directly to your calendar, to making sure your public profile looks professional, there’s plenty to explore. Let’s take a look at what’s new.

1. Take Charge of Your Calendar: Edit Manually Added Jobs

We know bookings can be made in a variety of ways—sometimes through an email, and sometimes from a chance encounter at an event. That’s why we’ve given you the power to store and manage everything in one place.

By manually adding jobs to your calendar, you get complete flexibility. Previously, if you added a job yourself (like a private booking or a placeholder for a maintenance day) and the details changed, you were a bit stuck.

In 2.9.0, you can now fully edit every detail of these manually added jobs. Whether the start time has shifted by half an hour or you need to update your private notes, it’s now just a couple of clicks away.

No Accidental Spam

One of the most important parts of this update is something you won’t see. We’ve made sure that when you update a manually added job, the system doesn’t fire off any automated emails. We know there’s nothing worse than cluttering your inbox (or your clients’) with “update” notifications for a contact info you just tweaked. Your schedule stays accurate, and your inbox stays clean.

Consistent Experience

We’ve rebuilt the event forms from the ground up to be shared across the whole app. This means whether you’re creating a new event or editing an existing one, the experience is identical. It’s smoother, faster, and much more intuitive.

2. Shine Online: New Social Profiles and Location Tags

Your Vendaly profile is often the first thing a potential client sees, so we want to make sure you’re putting your best foot forward.

You can now add your X (Twitter), Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn profiles directly to your Vendaly business page. We’ve added a dedicated “Social Profiles” tab in your business settings where you can drop in your URLs. These will appear as sleek icons on your public profile, making it easier than ever for clients to follow your journey and see your latest work.

Put Yourself on the Map

We’ve also added Location Tags to your public profile header. If you’ve provided your business’s address, it will now proudly display the suburb and state right under your business name. It helps clients immediately realise you’re a local business and ready to serve their area.

3. Smarter Scheduling

We’ve also been under the hood, making sure your scheduling logic is as sharp as possible.

Timezone Inference

If you’ve ever had a client enquire from another state, you know the pain of checking the timezone. In 2.9.0, we’ve added Timezone Inference. The system now looks at the location provided in an enquiry and automatically attempts to set the correct timezone for the event. It’s one less thing for you to worry about when you’re planning your trip across borders.

Better Concurrent Events Filtering

We’ve improved the logic behind the “Concurrent Events” feature. Now, when you’re looking at an enquiry, the system will only show you other relevant events on that day. It correctly excludes the enquiry you’re currently viewing, as well as any events you’ve already cancelled or declined. It’s a cleaner, more accurate way to see if you’re double-booked or have some spare capacity.

4. Under the Hood: Performance and Security

Last but not least, we’ve put some effort into making sure Vendaly is more stable than ever.

  • Authentication Race Condition Fix: We’ve resolved a tricky issue where the system could occasionally get confused during a login. This means a smoother, faster sign-in experience for everyone.
  • Dependency Bumps: We’ve updated several of our backend and frontend libraries for better security and performance.
  • Bug Fixes: A bunch of small tweaks to our profile editor to make sure numbers (like your truck’s dimensions or your setup times) are handled more reliably.

We’re thrilled to have these updates out in the wild. Thanks for all your feedback! We’re always keen to hear how we can make Vendaly work better for you.

Happy vending!
